KID-Talk:
While students were creating artistic pictures, the kindergarten teacher approached one diligent little
girl and asked, "What are you drawing?"
The girl answered, "I'm drawing God."
The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat or looking up from her drawing the girl said, "They will in a minute."
________
The teacher corrected a little boy, "No, it would have been impossible for a whale to
swallow a human because even though it's a very large mammal, its throat is small."
The little boy said, "But Jonah was swallowed by a whale."
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human. The little boy concluded,
"When I get to heaven I'll ask Jonah." The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?" The little boy answered, "Then
you can ask him."

~ This month's devotion was written by Lorri Steer,
writer, speaker, and mother of three daughters.
THE WAY TO A MOTHER’S HEART
By Lorri Steer
“Pour out your heart like water in the presence
of the Lord.
Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your
children”
(Lamentations 2:19, NIV).
It
was 3:00 AM, a familiar awakening time during the summer of 1999. God’s whisper spoke to my heart, “You
are going to lead the Moms in Touch group for your children’s school.” My faithless and repeated answer
was, “Oh no Lord, I would not be good at that. But you can use my house for the meetings.” Little did I realize
that He did not want my house so much as he wanted my heart.
There is a familiar saying: "The way to a man’s heart
is through his stomach." Well, it seems the way to a mother’s heart is through her children. In my desire to
love my children with prayer, God drew me closer and deeper into a love relationship with Him. Soon after, I was given the opportunity
to become a Moms In Touch group leader, which enabled me to make a difference and bless children with prayer.
Moms In Touch International (MITI) was founded nearly 20 years
ago by Fern Nichols. Today, 20,000 groups meet weekly in ninety-one countries. Women of all denominations are welcome even
if they feel uncomfortable praying aloud, which is not required. It is a simple commitment of one hour each week to pray together
for children, schools, teachers and administrators. The typical meeting agenda includes:
-
20 minutes
of praise
-
silent confession
time
-
thanksgiving
-
intercession
As a prayer leader, each week I was to prepare a praise
theme on the attributes and characteristics of God. I had never experienced praise in my prayers. Through this divine
responsibility, I learned that praise is one of the most important parts of prayer. Praise-filled prayers became
more natural as I focused on who God really is— not how I had misinterpreted Him to be.
Moms In Touch built my faith like nothing else. Week after
week, as we met to pray for our children, we were fortified with truth and blessings. My prayers changed from wish
lists to uplifting praise, confession, thanksgiving, and valuable intercession. I thank God for His 3:00 AM whispers and for
the way to a mother’s heart.

"Father God, we pray for children and their schools, teachers, and administrators. Lord, lead
the teachers to instruct with truth. Protect the children from evil and cover them with Your wisdom and blessings.
Surround them with angels each day. We pray in Jesus Name, amen."
Please keep praying for children and their teachers & schools.
Agape to you,
